The Gauteng Area Blood Bowl Series

G.A.B.B.S is a regional series for Blood Bowl tournaments in Gauteng, South Africa.

Series structure

The series consists of all the regular (11 man teams) Blood Bowl tournaments in Johannesburg and Pretoria, with points scored as below. These tournaments include, but are not limited to the Shaka Shield, Hexen Nacht Bowl, Critical Failure Cup, ICON and Into the Fray.

Points

1st place in a tournament scores x+1 points, where x= the number of coaches in the tournament. 2nd place earns x-1 3rd place earns x-2 and so on, down to last place who earns 1 point

Additionally all teams earn 1 point per game won and 1 point per game played Only the top three tournament results count towards a coaches final score. Tied scores are settled in favour of the coach who won the most tournaments, if still tied the coach who had the most overall points is the winner.

GABBS Champion 2024 The Gauteng champion for 2024 was Dian Brits who topped the table despite not winning a tournament all season. Two runners-up spots and a third place finish were enough for him to pip Gabriel Cross to the title by just 3 points. Top stunty player went to Stanley Loo, after playing 3 events with a stunty team!

GABBS Champion 2025  The Gauteng champion for 2025 was Jonathan Merry who took 2 tournament victories in the season with a record of 10 wins, 3 ties and 1 loss all year. Notable performances included Stanley and Gabriel swapping 2nd and 3rd relative to last year and the return of Nuno Afonso in 4th place. Top stunty player went to Nic Nel - as the only stunty team played all season! Top Pretoria player went to Vernon van der Merwe.
